Skincare has its double cleanse and its Sunday mask. Hair, for most of us, gets a quick shampoo and whatever is left in the bottle. Sisley’s Hair Rituel line is built on a simple idea that we like a great deal: the scalp is skin, and treating it with the same care is where good-looking hair starts.
This is our weekly version. Four products, one order of operations and one evening a week, ideally a Sunday, when there is nowhere to be afterward. The elegant version, made doable.
The edit
Pre-Shampoo Purifying Mask with White Clay, 200 ml
A pre-shampoo clay mask with a targeted nozzle, applied to dry hair before you wash. Think of it as the first cleanse.
- Key ingredients
- White clay, Java tea extract, celery seed extract, artichoke leaf extract, alpha-bisabolol, cottonseed extract, vitamin E and pro-vitamin B5.
- What the brand says
- A “reset” that absorbs impurities, pollution and excess oil from the scalp and hair, with a soothing feel and a light, fresh texture that suits sensitive scalps.
- How to use
- Section by section on dry scalp and hair, using the nozzle. Massage in, leave for 10 minutes, rinse carefully, then shampoo and condition as usual. Keep away from the eyes.
Gentle Purifying Shampoo with Java Tea Extract, 200 ml
A gentle, purifying everyday shampoo with a fresh herbal scent.
- Key ingredients
- Java tea extract, rosemary and exotic verbena essential oils, zinc, magnesium and copper, natural-origin bisabolol, cotton proteins, vitamin E and pro-vitamin B5.
- What the brand says
- Cleanses and refreshes the scalp, lifts surface impurities, oil and styling buildup, and leaves hair looking lighter, glossier and fuller.
- How to use
- Work into wet hair and the scalp, massage, rinse. After the clay mask, one wash is usually enough.
Revitalizing Fortifying Super Serum, 60 ml
A concentrated, leave-in scalp serum with a dropper, used in a three-month course.
- Key ingredients
- A fortifying complex of zinc, copper, magnesium, vitamins B6 and E and pro-vitamin B5 with arginine, plus rice proteins, einkorn wheat, ginger, linseed and amla extracts.
- What the brand says
- A scalp-health treatment and density booster that strengthens hair from the root and leaves it looking thicker and fuller.
- How to use
- Three full droppers, section by section, on dry or damp hair, from the temples toward the back of the head. Massage in with the fingertips. Do not rinse. Every other day for the first month, then twice a week for two months.
Precious Hair Care Oil, 100 ml
A lightweight finishing oil for lengths and ends, the bottle we would leave out on the counter.
- Key ingredients
- Moringa, shea, passion fruit and cottonseed oils.
- What the brand says
- Nourishes and smooths the hair, tames flyaways and gives an intense, glassy shine without weighing fine hair down. For all hair types.
- How to use
- Warm 2 to 3 drops between your palms and smooth from mid-lengths to ends: on damp hair before blow-drying, or on dry hair as a finish at any time of day.

The ritual, step by step
- 10 minutes
Clay on dry hair
Brush out any tangles. Part the hair into sections and run the nozzle of the Pre-Shampoo Purifying Mask (opens in a new tab) along each parting, then massage with the pads of your fingers. Set a timer for 10 minutes and use them: lay out a fresh towel, light a candle, put the kettle on.
- 5 minutes
One gentle wash
Rinse the clay thoroughly, then wash with the Gentle Purifying Shampoo (opens in a new tab). Lukewarm water, slow fingertip circles, a long rinse.
- Optional · 5 minutes
A mask, if your lengths need it
If your ends are dry, apply the Intense Nutrition Hair Care Mask (opens in a new tab) to damp lengths, leave it for 5 minutes and rinse. If not, use your usual conditioner.
- 2 minutes
Serum on the scalp
Towel-dry gently. Apply three droppers of the Super Serum (opens in a new tab) across the scalp from the temples back, and massage it in. No rinsing.
- 1 minute
Three drops to finish
Warm 2 to 3 drops of the Precious Hair Care Oil (opens in a new tab) between your palms and smooth over the mid-lengths and ends, then blow-dry or let it air-dry.
Who it’s for, and when
Anyone whose scalp feels heavy from dry shampoo, styling products or city air, and anyone who wants fuller-looking, glossier hair without adding weight. The clay is gentle enough for sensitive scalps, according to Sisley; the oil is made for every hair type.
The clay-and-shampoo reset once a week. The serum on its own schedule: every other day for a month, then twice a week. The oil whenever you like, including as a finish on second-day hair.
The Intense Nutrition Hair Care Mask, 190 ml
A rich, five-minute mask for dry to very dry lengths. The optional step in this ritual.
- Key ingredients
- Coconut, meadowfoam, moringa, macadamia and shea oils with kokum butter, a ceramide analogue and baobab proteins.
- What the brand says
- Intense nourishment in five minutes, for visibly softer, shinier, stronger-looking hair.
- How to use
- All over damp hair after shampoo. Leave for 5 minutes. Rinse carefully.
